Workshop Terms and Conditions

Workshop Deposit Charge: Before commencing any repair work on the equipment, a minimum workshop deposit charge must be paid to Freshwater Small Engines. The charges are as follows:

  • Outdoor Power Equipment: $55

  • Ride-on Mower: $90

Please note that the workshop deposit charge represents the minimum cost for repair work and does not include any expenses for spare parts or service items/materials that might be necessary to carry out the repairs.

Estimates and Approvals: If Freshwater Small Engines has not been provided with pre-approval to repair an item, an estimate will be provided before any repair work is initiated. It is essential to respond to the estimate within five working days. Failure to respond or the declination of the estimate will still incur the minimum charge, and the job will be closed. Re-opening a closed job will require an administration fee of $20.

Storage Fees: All repaired items must be collected within 7 working days from the completion of the job. Failure to collect the item within this period will result in storage fees of $10 per day. After 30 days, uncollected items may be disposed of to recover storage space.

Spare Parts and Service Items: Any spare parts or service items required for the repair will be charged in addition to the workshop deposit charge. Customers will be notified of any additional parts or materials needed, and approval will be sought before proceeding with the repair.

Warranty on Repairs: Freshwater Small Engines provides a warranty on repair work carried out, valid for 90 days from the date of completion. This warranty covers defects in workmanship but does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or unauthorized repairs.

Liability: While Freshwater Small Engines takes all reasonable care when handling your equipment, we are not responsible for any pre-existing damage or faults not identified during the initial assessment. Liability for any damage or loss is limited to the cost of the repair work carried out.

Customer Responsibilities: Customers are responsible for providing accurate and detailed information regarding the issues with their equipment. Misrepresentation or failure to disclose critical information may result in additional charges or delays.

Privacy and Data Protection: Freshwater Small Engines respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. Any personal data collected during the repair process will be used solely for the purpose of providing the service and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.

Compliance with Legislation: Freshwater Small Engines operates in compliance with all relevant Australian consumer protection laws, including the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.

If a resolution cannot be reached, customers may seek further assistance from relevant consumer protection authorities.
